Termoelectrica SA Ploiesti was founded in 2002, by Prahova County Council’s Decision no 60/2002, which becomes sole shareholder with a participation rate in profit and loss of 100%. The company has an implemented quality management system which is certified by SRAC as: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, IQNet 9001, 14001 and IQNet IQNet 18001.

Termoelectrica Ploiesti is the organic landfill operator for household waste in Vălenii de Munte, where a sawdust briquetting station is also integrated.

The warehouse management activity is focused on sorting organic waste that is stored in order to recover and capitalize the recyclable materials, greening of mountain areas by briquetting wood sawdust in the briquetting station, but also on the storage of domestic waste, resulting from the sanitation that they provide in several locations in the Prahova county, and also from third parties. In the area of environmental public lighting, SC Termoelectrica Ploiesti SA does the modernization and maintenance of the lighting systems – local, street and ornamental lighting using low power and extension of the lighting networks, providing thus the installation and their maintenance.

They also install and set up control and automation equipment for increasing the energy efficiency of the systems. In the field of renewable energy usage, energy efficiency and energy conservation, SC Termoelectrica Ploiesti SA performs works of replacement or supplementation of traditional heating systems with systems that use solar, geothermal and wind energy or other systems that lead to improved air, water and soil quality, but also insulation work in buildings to reduce energy consumption. SC Termoelectrica Ploiesti SA is a member of the "Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Agency”.

As an undertaken task, the company has the goal of being recognized as a leader in terms of the value that it offers it’s customers, while establishing and operating standard of an"ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY" type.
