The European Commission, in cooperation with the National Union of the County Councils of Romania, organized last week, in Ploiesti, the first seminar on the implementation of the legislation on energy efficiency.
The seminar held in Ploiesti had as the main purpose, promoting the implementation of the community legislation aimed to promote energy efficiency. The discussions covered issues including energy supply security.
"The purpose of this seminar is to create a dialogue between representatives of the local authorities in Romania and the other actors with which local administrations work in the fields of environment protection and renewable resources," said Liliana Manageac, European Coordinator at the UNCJR.
Attending the meeting, Mrs. Mircea Cosma, the President of the Prahova County Council, stated that: "Renewable energy is the future " and "Ploiesti, which is part of the Bucharest-Ploiesti-Brasov axis, the backbone of the Romanian economy, was most appropriate to host such an event, especially as the oil capital, with the passion and skill of those who live here, may become an area of great importance in the field of renewable energy”. Discussions on the subject were held Thursday and Friday, in the second day of the workshop held in Ploiesti, environmental issues were discussed.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Environment, ANRE,of the County Councils and Mayors across the country, of the APNM and of local and regional Environmental Protection Agencies and energy companies, and also representatives of the Yorkshire region of the United Kingdom, Val -de-Marne in France and of the Germany Geoinformation Service which presented solutions for the implementation of the community legislation.
The presentation of the action and financing domains of the Intelligent Energy Europe financial instrument was held by Mr. Bogdan POTLOGIA- Executive Director of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Agency Ploiesti-Prahova, who captured the attention of the participants and was key component in the seminar’s economy, the chosen theme elicited the interest of the local and county administrations representatives.
Mrs. Iustina CAPATINA -Energy Expert at the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Agency presented “AE3R Ploiesti- Prahova- An Active Component In Prahova’s Life " a review of the projects implemented by the AE3R which constituted a true example of "good practice”. The quality and the consistency of the information, the clarity of the message were very appreciated by the participants and also by other experts.
The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Agency Ploiesti- Prahova will aim to mobilize local and central authorities to increase the share of renewable energy and energy efficiency incentives. |
